The Rental Index recorded over 257,000 rental transactions during March, across more than 160 cities and governorates recently added to the Rental Index, which now covers all cities and regions of the Kingdom. This was stated in reports and data issued by the Electronic Rental Services Network “Ejar” in collaboration with the “Sakani” platform, making March the highest month for recorded rental transactions since the launch of the index.

Beneficiaries of the real estate rental sector can now view rental behavior evaluation results for real estate brokers through the broker list in the Rental Index and see the number of evaluators for each broker, both at the city and neighborhood levels. The rental behavior evaluation in this current phase is based on landlords’ satisfaction with the broker’s performance and responsiveness during contract authentication, as well as tenants’ feedback on their experience with the broker during the rental contract signing process and the clarity with which the broker explained all terms and conditions.

The March 2023 Rental Index report recorded over 202,000 residential rental transactions for units including apartments, floors, and villas, while commercial rental transactions for shops, commercial showrooms, and offices exceeded 54,000 deals.

The Rental Index is designed to promote transparency and encourage investment in the Kingdom’s real estate rental sector by setting clear rental indicators for cities, neighborhoods, and various property types in both residential and commercial categories. Users can identify price ranges for residential units, search for neighborhoods offering units within a specified price range, review the number of transactions and residential or commercial units in a particular neighborhood during a specific period, view average rental values, and explore transaction price ranges through detailed charts. This effort is part of supporting beneficiaries and improving market efficiency in line with the objectives of the Housing Program—one of the key initiatives under Saudi Vision 2030.
