The Electronic Rental Services Network "Ejar" announced that the Rental Index recorded over 121,000 rental transactions during July, according to reports and data issued by the network in integration with the "Sakani" platform, covering 16 cities included in the index that represent all regions of the Kingdom. The announcement highlighted that, in the first half of the current year, the Rental Index registered around 800,000 residential rental transactions and more than 300,000 commercial rental transactions.

In a press statement, the Ejar network confirmed that approximately 105,000 residential rental contracts were authenticated through the network during July, while commercial rental contracts reached close to 17,000. This data was derived from the sixth report covering cities included in the Rental Index.

When comparing residential rental transactions in the first half of 2022 with the same period in 2021, the Rental Index showed an increase of nearly 58% in residential rental transactions, while commercial rental transactions rose by 87% over the same period.

Riyadh ranked first in the number of rental transactions among the cities covered by the index, accounting for 31.4% of the total residential and commercial transactions, followed by Jeddah with 24.9%. Rental transactions in Makkah exceeded 8.1%, while Madinah registered 7.2% and Dammam 6.6%, with all other cities included in the index recording less than 5%.

The Rental Index aims to enhance transparency and stimulate investment in the Kingdom’s rental real estate sector by setting precise rental indicators for cities, neighborhoods, and various property types across both residential and commercial sectors. 

The service allows beneficiaries to access detailed information, including average rental prices for residential units (apartment, villa, floor) and commercial properties (shop, showroom, office), providing average square meter prices for commercial spaces. This contributes to achieving greater accuracy in search and selection processes, enabling users to identify properties that meet their needs and streamline searches within covered cities and neighborhoods through interactive mapping tools.
