The Electronic Rental Services Network "Ejar" revealed data from the third Rental Index report, where the number of rental transactions in cities covered by the index reached over 104,000 rental contracts, including over 80,000 residential rental contracts and nearly 24,000 commercial rental contracts. 

Riyadh topped the Rental Index report for residential rental contracts as the city with the most recorded rental transactions, with a percentage exceeding 43.6% of total transactions, followed by Jeddah with a percentage reaching 25.5%. In third place among cities covered by the Rental Index came Dammam with 8.1%, then Makkah with 5.6%, while Madinah came at 5% followed by Khobar with 4.6%. In cities recently added to the Rental Index, Tabuk came seventh with 2.2%, then Buraydah and Hail cities with approximately 2%, and finally Jizan with 1.2% of residential rental contracts.

In rental transactions for commercial contracts, Riyadh was first among Kingdom cities with 45.5% of commercial rental contracts in April, followed by Jeddah with over 20%, while Dammam reached nearly 8%, followed by Madinah with 7.2%, then Makkah with 6.3% and Khobar with 3.4%. In new cities recently added to the Rental Index, Buraydah came with 2.9%, then Hail with 2.7%, then Tabuk with 2.5%, and Jizan with 1.1%.

The Rental Index aims to enhance transparency and stimulate investment in the Kingdom’s rental real estate sector by setting precise rental indicators for cities, neighborhoods, and various property types across both residential and commercial sectors. 

The service enables beneficiaries to identify the residential index for average rental prices including types of residential units (apartment, villa, and floor), or (shop, showroom, and office) in the commercial index for average square meter prices in commercial units, to achieve more accurate results in search and selection processes from real estate offerings that suit their needs, and facilitate search processes within cities and neighborhoods covered by the service during periods determined by the beneficiary, with the possibility of using interactive maps. It should be noted that the 10 cities covered by the Rental Index so far are (Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, Dammam, Madinah, and Khobar), in addition to cities added last March: (Buraydah, Tabuk, Hail, and Jizan).
