Ejar program recorded unprecedented figures in January for the number of contracts authenticated through the Electronic Rental Services Network, marking the highest levels since the network’s launch. More than 165,000 residential and commercial rental contracts were authenticated, representing an increase of 57% compared to the average number of contracts recorded in January 2021.

In a press statement, the program reported that the number of authenticated residential rental contracts in January exceeded 129,000 contracts, while more than 36,000 commercial rental contracts were documented, at a daily average of 5,500 contracts throughout the month. The program highlighted that these record-breaking numbers and the growing demand for “Ejar” came as a result of the network’s development and the introduction of a range of strategic partnerships designed to safeguard the rights of all rental process parties. Among the most notable of these initiatives is the integration of water bills under the actual tenant’s name in collaboration with the National Water Company. Additionally, several distinguished services have been launched, such as the Residential Unit Receipt Service, which allows rental process parties to document the condition of a unit upon handover through electronic forms that are completed and approved digitally by all parties to the rental contract.

Another innovative feature added to the network is the Rental Behavior Service, which enables rental process parties to evaluate their interactions with other parties. This service fosters a competitive and development-driven real estate rental environment, improving service quality and operational efficiency. It also creates a valuable primary data source for building a Rental Behavior Index, empowering beneficiaries of “Ejar” to make rental decisions with greater confidence, reducing risks, enhancing transparency, and increasing trust between tenants and landlords. Moreover, this service enriches the rental experience by encouraging competition to improve rental services through an interactive evaluation system involving tenants, landlords, and certified real estate brokers.

It is worth noting that the upgraded Ejar network offers numerous electronic advantages, including a simplified, flexible process for registering new contracts, direct electronic authentication of contracts via the network, and a range of payment options for rental installments and account balance recharging.
