The National Water Company and the National Housing Company – the operator and commercial operations manager of the Ejar program – today launched a service to link water meters to rental contracts authenticated in the rental network. Through this service, water meters are transferred electronically under the actual beneficiary’s name for the real estate unit during the contract authentication process.
In a joint press statement, the National Water Company and the National Housing Company explained that this integration enhances the quality of services provided to beneficiaries, including landlords and tenants, through real estate brokers. It also optionally enables the transfer of water services from the landlord to the tenant, with water bills issued under the tenant’s name for the real estate unit, allowing tenants to pay bills directly without referring back to the landlord or broker during the rental contract period. The service currently covers Saudi tenants across all cities of the Kingdom.
This collaboration between the National Water Company and National Housing Company aims to empower tenants to manage water services for their residences, regulate consumption, and reduce disputes resulting from the previous mechanism for collecting and paying bills through landlords or real estate brokers.
