"Ejar" program, affiliated with the Ministry of Housing, recorded an increase in the number of authenticated contracts through its electronic network, reaching more than 930,000 authenticated contracts by the end of June.
The program explained in its statement today that it recorded more than 876,000 electronic contracts for the residential sector by the end of last month, in addition to more than 52,000 electronic contracts for the commercial sector. It also registered more than 15,000 accredited real estate brokers during the same period and provided support services through the customer service center to more than 25,000 beneficiaries during June.
Ejar mentioned in its statement that by monitoring the movement of contracts in the real estate sector, the Electronic Rental Services Network recorded a steady increase in the number of authenticated contracts, reflecting a growing interest in and demand for the wide range of services provided by the program. The program continues to provide protection for all parties involved in rental transactions, including landlords, tenants, and real estate brokers. The program also anticipates further growth in authenticated contract numbers in the coming period, which contributes to regulating the rental process, safeguarding the rights of all parties, and registering mutual obligations between landlords, tenants, and real estate brokers. The system facilitates the completion of rental processes at any time, from any location, in under eight minutes, thereby supporting price balance and offering services that simplify rental procedures. Among the most prominent of these is the electronic payment feature, used by 14.7% of beneficiaries in commercial contracts and 13.4% in residential contracts. Additionally, flexible payment plans are available, most notably monthly payment options, utilized by more than 30% of residential contract beneficiaries and 13.8% of commercial contract beneficiaries.
In the same context, the "Ejar" program announced its ongoing development of the electronic network, introducing a range of new qualitative services and features. This includes the launch of the "rental payment grace" service, which enables rental parties to request a grace period for settling rental payment bills through their accounts in the Ejar network, applicable to both residential and commercial contracts. The program has also added the "rental payment scheduling" feature, allowing installment payments of unequal amounts based on the agreement between both parties and their specific needs. Furthermore, it has facilitated the automatic payment process for renewed contracts through the SADAD system. The network now supports verification of authenticated rental contracts for the issuance of commercial licenses through the "Balady" portal, overseen by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, and for independent beneficiaries of the Citizen Account Program affiliated with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
It should also be noted that the program launched its "Solution by Contract" communication campaign, which aims to raise awareness about electronic rental contracts—both residential and commercial—as a comprehensive solution to all rental-related issues. The campaign emphasizes three key pillars upon which its messages are built: that the Ejar contract is electronic, flexible, and reliable. Ejar is regarded as one of the effective regulatory programs within the real estate sector, seeking to meet the needs of all parties involved in the rental process through the services, features, and facilities provided by the Electronic Rental Services Network. This includes offering a wide range of payment options and channels, flexible contract durations, renewal mechanisms, and varied party obligations, while ensuring verified documentation of financial rights between parties. The network is also recognized and approved by entities that require a rental contract or proof of residence for service provision. In addition, the platform offers a comprehensive package of electronic services, including electronic contracting, archiving, alerts, notifications, and other advanced features.
