"Ejar," in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce in the Eastern Province, held an introductory meeting on the Ejar network aimed at organizing the real estate rental sector, with participation from several real estate brokers specialized in the field.

The introductory meeting covered the electronic system of the "Ejar" network, the steps for registration in the system, as well as the advantages and obligations of each party involved in the rental process. The session also explained how to work with the unified rental contract and its specific terms and conditions.

It was clarified that Ejar is being implemented in several phases. The first phase, launched in February, was dedicated to registering real estate brokers in "Ejar," alongside holding workshops for real estate brokerage establishments. The second phase will soon begin, focusing on adding residential units and brokerage agreements in the upcoming period.

A set of conditions has been established for registering real estate brokers in "Ejar." These include that the broker must be of Saudi nationality and the establishment must hold a valid commercial registration covering the activities of "management and rental of owned or leased residential properties" and "management and rental of owned or leased non-residential properties." In addition, the establishment’s headquarters address must be registered in the National Address Service, and brokers must complete the electronic training course designed to qualify them before entering into rental contract procedures. Brokers are also required to comply with real estate office regulations.

The "Ejar" network is recognized as an integrated system designed to develop and regulate the Kingdom’s real estate rental sector in a balanced manner, offering sustainable solutions to market challenges. It ensures the protection of all parties’ rights and simplifies rental sector procedures through neutral, transparent systems and secure, accurate mechanisms.

The network also aims to achieve several objectives, such as improving rental sector performance, increasing its contribution to the national economy, reducing disputes related to rental agreements, and achieving greater balance between supply and demand to ensure fair rental prices. Additionally, it works to enhance trust in the Kingdom’s rental market, regulate the operations of real estate brokers, and create more job opportunities for citizens.

"Ejar" is one of several initiatives launched by the Ministry of Housing to organize the Kingdom’s housing market through an advanced electronic platform that provides integrated solutions for the rental sector. The platform brings together all parties to the rental process in a single virtual environment, ensuring transparency and protection of rights for tenants, lessors, and brokers. It also guarantees optimal utilization of rented properties and strict adherence to all contractual terms. The unified rental contract, activated through the system, serves as a key mechanism to guarantee and safeguard everyone’s rights.
