3.2 Million Rental Transactions Recorded by the Rental Index

Thursday, 23 June 2022

The Ejar program announced that the Rental Index recorded over 3.2 million rental transactions across both residential and commercial sectors, based on data registered in residential and commercial rental contracts through the Electronic Rental Services Network.

The program explained that the Rental Index on the Sakani platform covers more than 16 cities across all regions of the Kingdom, with the number of neighborhoods included in the index exceeding 1,100 neighborhoods. These neighborhoods are distributed across:  Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, Dammam, Madinah, Khobar, Buraydah, Tabuk, Hail, Jizan, Abha, Sakaka, Najran, Al-Ahsa, Al-Bahah, and Arar, and can be accessed through advanced search filters and interactive maps.

Beneficiaries of the residential and commercial real estate rental sector, including tenants, landlords, investors, and real estate brokers, can use the platform to view comprehensive rental indicators. These include average rental price values for residential units (floors, apartments, and villas), as well as average square meter prices for commercial units (shops, offices, and showrooms). In addition, users can access detailed data on the number of transactions completed during specific dates and within specific neighborhoods by visiting the dedicated service page on the Sakani platform at: https://sakani.sa/reports-and-data. The Rental Index currently includes detailed records of rental transactions covering the years 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022.

The program emphasized that the Rental Index plays a crucial role in promoting market transparency and encouraging investment in the Kingdom's rental real estate sector by setting precise rental indicators for cities, neighborhoods, and property types across both residential and commercial categories. The data is compiled from authenticated residential and commercial rental contract inputs available within the Electronic Rental Services Network, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
