Ejar program announced a significant increase in the number of beneficiaries of the Electronic Rental Services Network since its launch, with the total exceeding 1.5 million beneficiaries whose residential or commercial rental contracts have been authenticated in all regions of the Kingdom by the end of the first quarter of 2021. The announcement also revealed the trial launch of the upgraded version of the Ejar network, which now enables direct contract authentication through the platform, introduces the Mada payment channel, and adds several new features.
In a press statement issued today, the program explained that its network beneficiaries include tenants, landlords, and real estate brokers, noting that Ejar authenticates all types of rental contracts (residential and commercial) and provides access to these services for entities in both the public and private sectors. This expansion aims to deliver value-added services that cater to the needs of rental sector beneficiaries while boosting investor confidence in the real estate rental market.
Ejar attributed the growth in network users to its trusted and flexible services, which continue to be developed and improved to allow beneficiaries to access services anytime and anywhere through simple, clear steps. The program also highlighted that its technical integration with several government entities has contributed significantly to increased demand for rental contract authentication.
It is noteworthy that in 2020, the number of authenticated rental contracts grew by approximately 112% compared to 2019. The program’s overarching goals include organizing and stimulating investment in the real estate market, improving transparency in rental transactions between all parties, and granting beneficiaries access to the data provided by the network. In cooperation with the Ministry of Justice, Ejar also plays a crucial role in safeguarding the rights of rental stakeholders—tenants, landlords, and real estate brokers—through unified, approved electronic rental contracts. The platform enables the authentication of contracts, registration of property data, and their recognition as executive bonds, helping reduce disputes in the rental sector and alleviating pressure on judicial authorities.
