The "Ejar" program of the Ministry of Housing held yesterday the periodic Ejar meeting with real estate brokers in Jeddah Governorate, as part of a series of introductory meetings on the Electronic Network for Rental Services across various regions of the Kingdom, with the participation of more than 1,000 real estate brokers.

The workshops come as part of "Ejar’s" efforts to qualify employees working in real estate brokerage establishments and to emphasize the enforcement of real estate laws and regulations. During the meeting, the team provided a complete and detailed explanation about the network and its updates, in addition to presenting the benefits and responsibilities of all rental process parties. The session also reviewed key observations from real estate brokerage establishments and highlighted warnings regarding violations identified during awareness and inspection tours carried out by the supervision and oversight team.

The meeting included a visual presentation about the Electronic Network for Rental Services and the registration requirements, clarifying the advantages and obligations of lessors, tenants, and real estate brokers, and reviewing the terms of the unified rental contract.

Strategic Performance Manager at Ejar, Abdul Rahman Al-Sammari, delivered an overview of the Ejar program and the procedures it has implemented to address all necessary requirements for developing the real estate rental sector system. He confirmed the program's commitment to swiftly activating strategic partnerships, noting that the nearest partnership to implementation involves linking the renewal or issuance of work permits for non-Saudis to the existence of a registered rental contract in the "Ejar" network, in accordance with Council of Ministers Decision No. 292.

Regarding the use and development of the Electronic Network for Rental Services, it was clarified that the development process is ongoing and continuous to simplify network usage, accelerate registration, and enable the documentation of rental contracts, including those involving exceptional cases. This has been achieved through the recent launch of the quick rental contract registration service, which allows contracts to be registered in just four steps within eight minutes. The service also allows documentation of rental contracts even if one party does not have an account on the "Absher" platform, supports the registration of all title deeds, and covers all cases involving legal entities. Furthermore, the documentation of the rental contract and the conclusion of the brokerage agreement have been merged into a single step.

It is worth noting that the Ejar program was officially launched on 12 February 2018 with several objectives through which the Ministry of Housing seeks to regulate and sustain the real estate rental sector and protect the rights of all rental process parties. These efforts resulted in the introduction of the unified rental contract, which is treated as an executive instrument to minimize potential disputes and ensure their quick and efficient resolution. The electronic network offers multiple benefits to all parties involved in the rental process, including electronic payment, issuance of electronic receipts and payment vouchers, bill payment services, and other features that the Ministry of Housing continues to develop and implement.
